Accelerate Neighborhood Climate Action (ANCA) in Redlands, a volunteer organization which works in partnership with the University of Redlands Environmental Studies department and the City of Redlands, is hosting a speakers series aimed at facing the impacts of climate change locally.

Topics of the five free talks include securing our local water supply and preparing for coming food shortages.

According to ANCA's Facebook page, the group hopes "to create shared, place-based climate action on a block-by-block, neighborhood-by-neighborhood level."

The first talk, on March 3 from 6:30-8, will take place at the Redlands Community Center, 111 West Lugonia Ave. and is titled "Facing the Impacts of Climate Change in Redlands: Threat or Opportunity?"

Attendees, the event page says, will "learn how the climate crisis is accelerating globally, how the Redlands area will be impacted in the next few decades, and how, by working together, we can build a more climate resilient community."

Masks are required. To register, visit https://tinyurl.com/ancaimpact.
